Focus Iran 2: Contemporary Photography and Video

June 1 – August 8, 2016

The Craft & Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) and Farhang Foundation announce an international call for submissions for Focus Iran 2: Contemporary Photography and Video, the second biennial juried exhibition of photography and video works relating to Iranian culture and heritage. The exhibition is an opportunity to expose and feature emerging and mid-career photographers and video artists from around the world. Approximately 40 selected photographs and videos will be displayed in a group exhibition to take place at CAFAM from January 29 to May 7, 2017.

The Craft and Folk Art Museum—its unlikely frontage peering mischievously over Museum Row—has in the last few years come to the forefront of the LA art scene with its unpredictable exhibitions. Executive Director Suzanne Isken and her exhibition team (Holly Jerger, Exhibitions Curator; Andres Payan, Curator of Public Engagement; Sasha Ali, Manager of Exhibitions and Communications) have smartly built genre-bending shows around signature LA artists, thereby enticing a wider audience.
