Huarache Making Workshop with Pilar Agüero-Esparza

THIS WORKSHOP IS FILLED.
Exhibiting artist Pilar Agüero-Esparza leads an afternoon workshop on designing and making leather huaraches, a contemporary Mexican sandal with pre-Columbian origins. Participants will learn basic leather working and weaving techniques to create their very own pair of sandals!

CraftNight: Miniature Nicho Workshop with Mi Vida Boutique


Thursday, January 4 | 7:00–9:00pm  Demonstrations at 7:00 & 7:30pm 
$10 / free for members (includes materials, drinks, and snacks)

Local Chicana lifestyle and apparel brand Mi Vida Boutique leads a nicho workshop focusing on the Mexican tradition of creating small decorative shadow boxes for loved ones. Using a variety of mixed media including colorful paints, flowers, tin, and glass beads, make your own wearable miniature shrine!
